A message dated May 9, 1994, was read stating the Senate has failed            
to recede from its amendment to:                                               
                                                                               
CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 43(FIN)                                     
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Alaska             
relating to the rights of crime victims.                                       
                                                                               
namely:                                                                        
                                                                               
SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO.                               
43(JUD)                                                                        
Proposing amendments to the Constitution of the State of Alaska               
relating to the rights of victims of crimes and to criminal                    
administration.                                                                
                                                                               
The President appointed the following members to a Conference                  
Committee to meet with the like committee from the House to consider           
the bills:

The House members of the Conference Committee are Representatives              
Porter, Chair, Parnell and Navarre (page 4249).                                
HJR 43                                                                       
Representative Porter, Chair of the Judiciary Committee, moved and             
asked unanimous consent that Rule 23(a) of the Uniform Rules be                
waived for the Conference Committee considering CSHJR 43(FIN) and              
SCS CSHJR 43(JUD).  There being no objection, Rule 23(a) was                   
waived.
